The year is 2012. A team of Russian scientists in the middle of Antarctica had worked fourteen years to uncover a subglacial lake, Lake Vostok, that hasn't been touched by Earth's air in over 40 million years. Finally, the dedicated team break the surface. Everyone is in tears of joy at such a prehistoric discovery. But in minutes all communication was lost. After days of unsuccessfully trying to reach the scientists, no information has been uncovered about their mid-air disappearance. Will the brave team ever find their way back to reality?
This novel is in journal-style, and is historically based off of the real-life events of the famous Lake Vostok mystery.

❖ Interstellar pilot and ex-adventurer Alex Gallegos must keep their team safe on an icy moon as sentient storms threaten to repeat the tragedy that ended their last career. ❖ Everyone in the United Inhabited Solar Systems (for some reason, UIS for short) knows to stay away from Mahaha. The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2021 Shortlister. Standalone sequel (Rocks Can Dance) coming in 2023. Comments and critiques are both welcome and appreciated. I write characters from many different backgrounds, with many different experiences. If you share those traits and find that I have misrepresented anything, please let me know! Book Two of the Unofficial Case Files { { o } } Ten years ago, Detective Rodney Klocke had his first encounter with the supernatural. The case cost him his partner and closest friend, Doug Norgaard. A man who knew far more than he ever could've shared. Klocke had managed to forget this warp in reality, for the most part. Surely he'd only imagined all that? Ghosts? They don't exist. Except they do. It used to be his only officially unsolved case. Though he knew who the killer had been. While he's successfully solved every case placed on his desk since, his luck with partners hasn't improved. Save for Jennifer Haiden, who survived not only being the captive of a psychopathic killer, but has so far managed to survive being his partner. When Klocke finds an invitation to a ten-year highschool reunion on his desk (one with a personal letter to him written on the back), he's forced to revisit that case from all those years ago. He's forced to remember why he can't let anyone get too close. Because he might be more than jinxed. He might be cursed. { { o } } COMPLETELY EDITED
