A retelling of the tragedy of Cassandra of Troy, an insane prophetess in the Trojan War.

I wrote this for a school project long ago, a narrative of a character in the Trojan war. It's quite short but explains the mythology well, if you're into that. Thanks for reading!

You play games. She plays tricks. In the realm of games, where trickery abounds, a tale arises of a gifted assassin. Cassandra Roman Elizabeth Viper, blessed with a birthright from the divine, knew one truth above all else: "Don't trust the thirteen." With her family's legacy and newfound obligations weighing upon her, Cassandra's thirst for vengeance knows no bounds. Will she attain the retribution she seeks, or will she fall to the very forces she battles? Behold, "I Will Rise," the inaugural tome of D.A. Willows' "Gods Be Damned" series. In this modern retelling of the fabled Greek myth of Cassandra of Troy, action and romance entwine in a dark, fast-paced epic. As you delve into this tome, the edge of your seat will beckon, and the yearning for more will ignite. But do not despair, for a little edging never hurt anyone. Please note, dear seeker of knowledge, that this is a modern dark romance tale with a mafia twist, a reimagining of Cassandra of Troy. While the narrative may diverge from the original myth, it is fortified with unique elements and characters that will captivate your imagination. Yet, some mysteries may remain unsolved until the second book's release, and though they do not diminish the greatness of this tome, they will leave you yearning for more. And a word of caution, the moody and vexing men within these pages may steal your heart. This story is intended for mature audiences, and please read the trigger warnings before indulging.

Inspired by Greek Roman & European legends, historical army formations, remixed with biblical themes, & an original vision of mine. Come & experience a retelling of the Trojan War in a Christian biblical light manner & POV, while keeping in touch with some of what was written in Homer's Iliad, Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, & other ancient writings, changing what was originally there, & adding biblical ideas to the story of the Trojan War. The story follows Priam's desperation for the wife he loves Hecuba to have a child. After hearing about Israel's Conquest of the land of Canaan & rumors spreading about their God amongst the commanders officers, he willingly sets out on a diplomatic mission to bring to the tribes of Israel gifts, going to Kedesh-Naphtali Priam comes into conflict with Sisera a Canaanite commander of 10,000 Canaanites & 900 chariots, meets Barak of Ephraim before he became a commander, & the prophet Deborah who led Israel at the time. The story continues on with the birth of Paris & how he came to be as a shepherd boy with his guardians Agelaus & Harpru, & his friends Ankenaus, Brutus, Francus, Achates, & Oenone to how he becomes the prince of Troy meeting his half siblings Deiphobus, Troilus, Hectoris, & others. Disclaimer: I do not claim to be an expert in historical characters, peoples, times, places, languages, & settings, nor does this have any historical relevance; I'm just a writer, retelling the story of the Trojan War in a biblical light. It's still a work in progress, so I will continue to write & correct my writing & any errors I made along the way.
