Max had troubles that started way back in apartheid South Africa, led a life in squalor until, unbeknownst to him,he was adopted by his mother's master after his mother's death, who turned out to be his biological father. He had almost murdered his uncle in self-defense. At his new school of predominately white students, Max then had the opportunity to meet his alter ego, Al. Together they started all the shenanigans - from merging their small-time school gangs, to growing their own weed, to trafficking cocaine and crystal meth. Then they graduated to running underground brothels for the politicians and the wealthy. As a result of a life full of murder and deception, Max developed migraines and erratic sleeping patterns, which interfered with his life. He was then referred to a well-known therapist by the name of Joy Kumalo, but instead of being psychoanalyzed, Max started a kryptonitic romantic relationship with her. Max then left for a short-lived two year study stint overseas,which was interrupted by ghosts from the past in the form of a petition by parents of people he had terrorized during his heydays. After returning from overseas and re-joining Al on the dark side of life, he embarked on a mission to avenge the death of his dad. Al, with Max, planned a hostile takeover of the company of the man who was the financial advisor to his dad, a plan that would see the man commit suicide.The bad things were now following the guys, with Max's house being vandalized and then Al's parent's house burned down. There was then a drive-by shooting where most of the clan where around for some barbecue session; Joy was almost killed when her car was tempered with; and Al's cousin was shot execution style one Sunday morning. Rivals put numerous contracts on Max's head. Find out if he will survive to rule the underworld.
