Come visit a town in the distant future. Little Tumbleweed. An anachronism within an anachronism. A desert town where the inhabitants prefer to live in an ancient Wild West culture, yet with 1960s technology. They do this because they hate modernity so much. Imagine their disdain when into their town steps a modern business man seeking his two children. And furthermore, he has the effrontery to have a highly technological prosthetic arm! And boy, does this business man mean business!

A Blip in Modernity is a 22,500 word sci-fi novella by T. J. P. Campbell divided into 11 chapters. It is a proof-read pre-published version with good grammar and punctuation.

I have sat often in front of the computer, and stared long at the screen without ever writing a word. The synopsis for this project has haunted me since the first person asked me "So, what is it about?", and to this day I have never been able to deliver a straight answer. This book is about a number of things, many of which do not fit evenly into a succinct description. I have tried to make them fit and have found the resulting descriptions ill-representing and dull. Thus, I have decided to go without a description. This book will fade into obscurity no matter what I put here, so I might as well write what's really important. Winter in a city is an especially punishing time. This book comes out of my late nights and early mornings riding the train, and my looking at the window and being able to make out nothing but the blur of the glass. From the outside it may look dead, but certain people know that the inner workings of a city are a true marvel to behold. In writing this, I have tried to capture that marvel and deliver it to you, the reader. This is a book about a city and the people within it. The rest is up for you to read, if you so choose. Geoffrey Arnold becomes a key figure in the government catastrophe committee, formed to resolve the myriad issues raised by MINDSLIP. Power generation, the health service, farming, pay, pensions, education, the banking system and asset ownership spiral into chaos. In addition, Geoffrey must save his wife from an imminent premature death brought on by one of the MINDSLIP effects. An incident happened which lead me to an early death. If this had happened a few years ago I would have probably celebrated this. However, since the universe just hates me so much It decided to take me when I was finally free from one of my greatest chains. My "family". But that didn't even compare to what happened next... I thought that after dying I would finally be set free of this crappy world, but instead... I just got transmigrated into a worse one. As the villainess. Now I'm stuck in this damn game trying to get one of the many interests who were supposed to ruin my life as a villainess to kill me so that I could possibly return back to my original world whether it was in my original body or by reincarnation since this damn game wouldn't let me die on my own.
