Violet and Deanna are in trouble.
It started with finding their mother, a seasoned hunter, in pieces on the floor, with a mysterious note telling them to find their father stuck to the stairs. The problem was that somehow, they became suspects in the death of their own mother, and after a frightened and compassionate policeman accidentally lets them skip town, suddenly they're not only searching for a ghost of a man, but also the subject of a nation-wide manhunt.
They've been training to be hunters since they were four, but finding their biological father is turning out to be difficult, despite their mother's little hints.
