Freshman year essay about Obama opening the embassy in Cuba after 50 years. Certain opinions have changed since this piece is about a year old, but I think it is still worth posting older work so I can later look back and see how I have evolved (and hopefully improved) as a writer.

The Coffee Shop
There was something different about this coffee shop. I had been coming here for eight years and I just couldn't find myself ever losing interest in it. I just kept coming back. "I'm gay." My eyes grow so big as I stop breathing, but two seconds later I'm bursting with laughter. "Okay funny," I finally tone down my laugh as I bring myself to look at him again. But he is still staring at me like he had been when he told me that joke. "Wait," uhh, "Really?" He nods, "Really." "You like... guys?" "I fuck guys." Oh wow, you really can't have it all can you. "What if the right person is also your Mr. So Wrong?" *** Her lips touched and teased and coaxed him and he felt her touch in every cell and every bone. Soft and supple, her body was around him. Everywhere. She was everywhere. He was hungry for more, but he couldn't break this sweetness. Shy and timid, she kissed like herself. All so innocent, but incredibly passionate. The kiss was gentle, yet also fire. And he couldn't help anymore. He wanted more. He pushed her back gently and her back hit the wall and he pressed himself to her amazing body. "Ah." He thought.
