So I'm now one of the 80 people left in this whole state? What the he- My thoughts were cut off by the teacher walking into the classroom. "Okay students whose ready for the end of the day announcements?" Everyone proceeds to groan. I however sit in the far back amused because I know im too far down the list for them to call so im safe for another year. She turns on the TV for the announced names to be called. I only catch a few names before I hear..."Piper Winters, Junior Ms.Smiths class." Everyone looks at me and all I remember was being pulled into a hug by my older brother who made it all the way through highschool since he graduates in 3 months. He started crying and telling me everything will be okay. I just have to survive.

His rough hands pushed me firmly against the wall. He placed his hands on either sides of my head, I was cornered with nowhere to go. He pressed his big muscular body up against my tiny one. His hot minty breath fanned my face and my breath hitched. He leaned forward but stopped when our lips brushed. The urge to kiss him was too big but I have to constrain myself. He is a teacher for crying out loud. "You didn't do your homework," he sarcastically whispered against my lips. "I..I well." I stuttered not being able to make full sentences. "Do I make you nervous?" Mr. Matthews asked whilst pushing his body even closer to mine, which I didn't think was possible but apparently it was. I was now squeezed in between the wall and him. I slowly nodded my head in a 'yes'. I felt him smirk against my lips. He pulled away slightly making my lips itch to touch his again. I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day.
