Fenna had it all: lots of friends, good grades, a great boyfriend, a loving father, lots of money, and perfect looks. The two things she didn't have was a mother, and although she didn't want it, Thaumaturge powers. Fenna's world is split between Thaumaturges, who have magical abilities, and Primitives, who have natural abilities. The two societies, if you couldn't guess, are complete rivals. On Swearing day, Fenna discovers that she is in fact a Thaumaturge, and she is on the run to the Peace Border to get to the Thaumaturge land, and along the way she will discover secrets about her mother and herself.

In the heart of the Zenithian Empire lies Elythra, a city of grandeur and power where spirit animals reveal one's true strengths. For Lukas, the youngest prince, his 19th birthday was meant to be a celebration of freedom and tradition. But when a rare and powerful lion appears as his spirit animal, whispers spread throughout the empire, whispers that the carefree prince may hold the key to the world's future. Yet Lukas's life of luxury shatters when he overhears his father's dark plans to manipulate the regions under his rule. With the knowledge that his family is the true threat, Lukas flees his home on the back of his lion, embarking on a perilous journey across the harsh deserts of Sirokhan and the unyielding jungles of Liana's Crest. Along the way, he uncovers a deeper truth: the supposed enemy of the north may not be the enemy he was raised to fear. As war looms and alliances shift, Lukas must confront not only his father's tyranny, but the chilling possibility that his sister, Charlotte, the cunning heir to the throne, might share in their father's ambitions. With the bond to his lion tested and his strength pushed to its limits, Lukas must rise to the destiny he never wanted to claim-or risk the collapse of the world itself.
