My name is Raïnia. I am a dragon. Our race is quickly losing places to hide as the humans expand the borders of their reach. Many of us have chosen to live in the furthest reaches of the world, far beyond where humans normally go. But there are some of us, of which I am a part, that still dwell fairly close to human settlements. We live in constant motion, trying to keep the secret that dragons are real from being released into the world. There are some others of our kind that call themselves the Guardians that live among the humans in a shape-shifted form. They work their best to keep our secret hidden, but their power is waning as more and more dragons are threatened with discovery. All it takes is for one of us to be found before the world is sent into another hunt for dragons. And this time, we will not survive.
