Welcome to a world of heartbreak and broken dreams. At first glance, it is very like our own, but closer inspection will reveal those few special defects. The puppets. Born with a genetic mutation, they are nearly indestructible, only fire being capable of piercing through their skin. This superpower, of sorts, makes them highly feared by the rich and powerful, and so, they are forced into labor. The poor treat them like objects. The rich are worse. If anyone else, it'd be considered inhumane. But then again, to the rest of the world..
They aren't human.
Meet the two star crossed lovers: Jack and Lynn.
Lynn has spent all her life hiding her true feelings to keep herself safe. Then she meets Jack, a human who can make her laugh. For a short time, Lynn is the happiest she's been.
Of course, this isn't a love story.

He transformed into a monster. He had scales on the sides of his body. His face was almost human but the monster part took over more. He had claws and a long dragons tail. I got scared. "Please don't eat me!" I backed up against the wall. He got closer to me. I was so scared. "Please!" I had tears running down my cheeks. He took my arms and pinned me up against the wall. His tongue was like a snakes tongue. He licked my neck. I was crying. He hissed in my ear before he talked. "I'll make a deal with you little human. I will let you live. IF. You belong only to me. I will come visit you every night and leave before the sun rises." I stared at him. Belong only to him? I wouldn't have a boyfriend. Would he make me do things I didn't want to do? Would he get mad one day and eat me? But I couldn't think about that right now. It was either this or die. I sighed so I could speak clearly. "Yes." One night, a creature snuck into Sammy's bedroom. Instead of choosing to eat her, he offers her a once in a lifetime opportunity. Sammy's life has been going downhill since her father's passing.
