A Girl Called 'Ever'

In the life of Evelyn d'Lune, death has shadowed her twice in all of her seventeen years on this planet. The first was an alcohol induced suicide that claimed her father at the age of 9, the second being the sudden parting of her mother just a week later. Labelled as an "orphan", a majority of the the girl's 8 passing years had been spent being tossed from relative to relative on her father's side in a cruel game of "tag, you're it".

Though, as luck may have it, a new relative has appeared out of thin air in the form of a phone call on the eve of the Evelyn's 17th birthday. One that possessed the will of her parents and the house she had long left behind. Even if it would mean leaving behind city life for the quieter Pine Lake, for an unwanted orphan to be able to return back to her hometown is a blessing .

However, Pine Lake is not just another regular sleepy town existing in the Canadian wilderness, it holds secrets and a past unlike any other; it is a place where monsters who howl at the moon live. And it is time for Evelyn to return.
