Taking a journey through the Underground seems fun to experience and to Fight or Act through. But is it really fun when you're just an infant? Will you ever make it back home? Or will you be forever trapped in the Underground? And most importantly:

We all know how our favorite monsters reacted to Frisk as a child, but how will they react to you being just a small baby?

-Warning!-  This is a story-like 'x Reader' only these aren't one-shots or any of the gf or bf relationships. Its kinda like a caretaker ship. 
- There will be some minor choices that you can choose between in most chapters.
- I will be editing chapters for spelling and grammar errors. I'm a slight perfectionist and OCD. Sorry.

How could a few measly children stand to this supposedly immortal foe and save the Underground from destruction? Is it even possible to do so? "The Time Before" by ANinnyMouse42 is the backstory for Sans in this AU with some adjustments (mainly since that was very close to my original idea before I read it and I don't want people to think I copied their masterpiece or smth, if you haven't read it please do so, it's really good). Some things will be in reference to the other books in the trilogy or "From War to Science" by Emotistic-optimistic. If you haven't, read that too. It's really good (along with its sequel). Y/N was the eldest of the royal family. Her life was great. She was turning 16, the age where she'll be able to help her parents with royal duties, and get more privileges, when her younger sister, Frisk, goes missing. Y/N's life falls apart, while her mother heartbroken, and her father started to ignore her. Not having a great life, she decides to run away, learning about the hard life of being a citizen. Having to live on the complete opposite side with poverty, she learns she has to hide, and everyone isn't what they seem. Not even her. Bailey Hill is a normal, 11 year old girl- until she trips, and falls into Mt.Ebott. Quick to befriend the monsters, Bailey is instantly loved by everyone. When monsters start mysteriously disappearing, Bailey is on the case. What she doesn't know, though, is that a small team, co-led by Undyne and Sans, are working as secret spies in the background. After hearing about the disappearances, Bailey thinks she can solve the mystery- but when Bailey has a shocking realization, she realizes that she might not be so innocent after all. ------------------------------------------- Changes: IMPORTANT: Frisk and Chara don't and never exist(ed) Monsters don't mind the underground, so Alphys never did the experiments.
