What if we could know everything about ourselves, about our lives....our futures....as easily as having it written on our skin?

What school to go to? What our calling was? Who to love?

When four friends accidentally cross a barrier into a world similar to their own, it's not long before they realize that they stand out in a crowd full of people whose bodies are covered in tattoo like markings. The very young, the very old and everyone in between is covered in lines and shapes that twist and twirl their stories around their bodies.
After this new world's government sweeps in and ambushes the unknowing group of "aliens", the group is suddenly separated from each other and thrown into the lives of the counterparts of themselves, mistaken for people who in this life are the tattooed versions of themselves.

Will the four of them be able to find their way back to each other? Will they ever make it back to their world....home? Or will they become so caught up in the story of the counterparts of themselves they are filling in, that they forget who they are? And what about those markings....how does the world look at them, without the familiar markings? Are they free to make different choices from that of the people around them? Will their bodies inevitably become marked the longer they reside in this universe?
