Jinny Locklear, 25 year-old starving musician and single mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to stay in Manhattan. Between working two jobs and trying to take care of her 4 year-old son, Jinny doesn't really have time to try her hand in the dating world. Ever since she moved to the city from a small town in Maine, Jinny had been singing and waitressing at Dan's coffee house. The people there became her family, and Dan became the father figure she never had. When Dan Robinson passes away at 58, she receives two pieces of surprising news. The first was that Dan had a son, Levi, living in Washington whom she had never even heard of --let alone met-- and that the coffee shop was left in both Jinny and Levi's name. The two struggle to resolve their problems and differing ideas about the business, and with Jinny's son and busy schedule and Levi's reservations about his dad, they will have to overcome the challenge of maintaining the restaurant, Jinny's lively son, and the two's less than perfect relationship.
