I hear the buzzing of the prison doors opening for the last time. My orange jumpsuit is left behind on the floor and for the first time since they sentenced me five months ago I am dressed in an actual suit again and it feels nice to wear something that has not been worn by countless people before me.
"Hello Brother." Dean greets me in Italian and slaps me on the back. "You have no idea how hard Father is going to beat your ass when we get home." I just scoff, that man is way too scared of me to actually touch me but he will most definitely scream his throat raw at me.
"He is all bark, no bite. We all know you have no chance at leading the Familia." Dean just laughs, with just a tiny hint of bitterness.
"It is good to see you Boss." Ice utters from behind the wheel, he probably just said more words in just one sentence than he usually does in a month.
"You too Ice." It does not take us long after that to get out of the jail, the security guards not even daring to look at me anymore. The FBI really underestimated how many high up people are in the pockets of the Familia. Well maybe not the entire FBI, just one person. One woman.
Dean's Alfa Romero is waiting for us outside and it roars as we pull out of the parking lot. Reminding me of the last time I was in a car willingly.
