Romance
"Count the memories, not the calories." - Nothing says home like the smell of freshly baked bread. Except in Maya position, it's a bakery. Maya (pronounced Mae-ya) is just a normal 18 year old girl helping her mother run their bakery, which is - simply called 'The Bakery'. It's a family business that has been going strong for 30 years. It's extremely well known - to be honest, it's unlikely that Russia don't know about it by now. Everyone in Maya's old high school would badger her to get them free cakes so they could "throw them at the teachers" but everyone knows they wanted to stuff their faces. Maya never agreed. While she was in school, she was seen as smart, confident and kind, which would be a reasonable description of her. Over the year she's been in work, she managed to scrape up enough money to buy herself a small one-bedroom apartment in the city. Although she only has a couch and numerious baking supplies, she's making do for now. But a sudden question hits her ... Is this really what she wants?

Carter Angel Dixon had one hell of a year. After going through a nasty breakup she thought things were looking up, though. She found a great rental house and her job at the bakery was busier than ever. Sure, there was the mysteriously absent landlord and the boredom that her life became once she swore off men but she was handling everything just fine. That is until the landlord shows up, and won't leave. He brings with him a world of new troubles, including huge men that try to kill Carter, dangerous flirting, and her cheating ex. With both frustrating men in the picture Carter can't remember why she ever thought her life had become boring. Unfortunately for the men in her life, the ones pursuing her and the ones attacking her, she's not just going to roll over and take it. Even covered in baking flour and cupcake icing Carter can handle anything they throw at her, because under her clothes she's tougher than they give her credit for. She knows that the question isn't whether or not she'll live through another turbulent patch, but whether or not she'll do it while still keeping her pact of swearing off men. Will she be able to keep her apron on through the flying bullets and advances of one especially sexy landlord? She sure hopes so.
