Cecil Fredricks sat between his friends, struggling to stay awake as the aging night enveloped him. All around them, shells fall from the sky, destroying everything and leaving a mess of the battlefield they sit on. Thinking back to his own room, and family that he hadn't seen in nearly five months, he couldn't help but wonder if he could ever be free from the horrors of war. The daily struggles of a young soldier living on the Western Front during World War 1. Written as a school project.
