Long ago there was a war that broke out between the supernatural beings, the gods and goddesses fought against them all to try to break up the war, but sadly, nothing could be done. The gods pulled away and slowly died, as they were no longer needed. The gods hid their hearts deep within the lost chambers along with a prophesy. Without the gods and goddesses to create mates, love was lost to the beings at war. One mate of each pair died a slow and painful death. Now all beings just reproduce with whom-ever, but rarely stay together.

Mia is a werewolf. She and her family live deep within the Guntopthia (Goon-toe-pea-thee-ah) woods. Her family consists of her older brother, Leon, her younger sister, Samantha, her father, Hector, and herself. The four of them live in a small home deep within the woods, the nearest town being a good hour drive from them. Despite being so far from everything, Leon makes sure that he, Mia, and Sam all get to school daily. Hector doesn't do much, his heart hollow, he sleeps, eats, works, repeats. His children are left on their own daily.

Peter is an Alpha, his father was the man thanked for starting the war that caused an end to love. His mother passed as a result. After much hate from his pack, he decides to move to a new area, a place where no one will know him. While making his way into a small school, his stomach churns, he empties the contents of his stomach in the trash by the door. With his stomach still unsettled, he makes his way to first period. A beautiful girl is sitting in the first row, her slightly musty smell tells him she is a wolf also, he makes his way next to her and takes a seat. One glance and his pupils dilate, as do hers. He snaps back to reality when the bell sounds. "No.." She says still with wide eyes. "There's no such thing as mates." He finishes for her.
