Three years ago, the world ended. It happened too fast for anyone to do anything other than stare in horror as everything around them died. Every single thing anyone knew was suddenly gone.

Then the Square formed, a new society of people determined to begin to repair their lives and restore their world. We were picked up by the Square and, as per usual with them, incorporated right into their system.

I was fourteen when my world ended. I watched, painful, slowly, as it fragmented and shattered and the pieces left knifed at anything and everything it could. I was the only thing left.

I'm still all that's left of my world.

My broken, shattered world.

I am Mariah Langsten, I go by May or Mariah. My friends, or the ones left would call me Mariah Carrie because how I could sing. I never heard it like they did. I am with two other survivors, My best friend Beth Greene, once the shit hit the fan I had no chance to find her. But once I finally got to their house. They were all gone, the barn was burnt to nothing, few walkers lurking and something that looked like their house. She told me a hoard got them and she told me about her group and what happened. It nearly killed me when she told me what happened to Hershel. He was like my second dad when we were kids. We cried for a while in each other arms. Then the other survivor was a guy I found on my way to Hershel's, which was over a 4 or 5 months ago. I lost count, besides his name is Andrew Winder. Him and Beth became a thing, but we decided not to tell her we've had sex more than a couple times. It was for comforting purposes, but we both knew deep down. It was defiantly for the hell of it, we haven't had any one sexually for a long time. I was 23, blonde hair and brown eyes, Beth was 21, blonde with blue eyes. She was so damn pretty. Andy (As I called him) was 25, brown hair and blue eyes. I had zero training before all this started, all I did was play video games, eat food and cuss at online players when they pissed me off. I didn't have much of a life. Never really had a good boyfriend, not even a decent. They all wanted me for my "perfect" boobs. Which I thought was bull shit because its just a piece of fat attached to my chest, ugh. I dropped out. I sucked in everything I was a horrible person, I was a waste of oxygen on this earth. Sometimes I wondered if I bullet would make a nice last meal. (My book Terminus is based on Terminus seen from AMC's The Walking Dead) (I do not own any TWD characters)

"Ever have one of those days where your whole world flips upside down?" I ask him, trying to explain without sounding crazy. "Yeah why?" this time he does shrug. "Well I'm having one of those days" I push off from the ground so that I'm now swinging. "That sucks, but you know what happens when the world turns upside down," he pauses for me to acknowledge his question "you get used to it being upside down, and after a while you don't notice anymore. Yeah sure the memory of how things used to be hurt's, but it gets better, I promise" he then kicks off to make his swing go back and forth. We swing for a little while before he turns to me "hey it's kind of late, aren't your parents concerned about where you are?" "They were expecting me home a long time ago" I say, he doesn't pick up the sad tone in my voice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kaison had her whole life ahead of her, she was the top of her class, the boy next door was in love with her, and she had the best's friends that she could ask for. This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Is this fleeting shadow something that can help her or could this mysterious figure be even more dangerous than the zombies themselves? ---------------------- Ranked #1 Apr 10, 2018 (A huge thank you to all who read and voted!) This story is copyright and built from my own imagination. This book was a special request from someone who helped me a lot. This viewpoint has less action than the original.
