Lord Ganondorf has ruled over the Gerudo desert and Hyrule for many years. He took the throne by force 7 years ago, using his "black magic" to overthrow the king and kill him and his children. The people live miserable lives, being forced into slavery as the Gerudo live in riches and luxury. There is no sign of rebellion rising anytime soon, as Ganondorf's assassins kill anyone who so much as shows a sign of resistance. One day, a prized pet of his get's lost in the woods. And a certain bounty hunter happens by. His name......... Link.

Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda.
