I have yet to find Julie and Mary, my wife and daughter. It's been a year since The Event... The US is torn to shreds due to all of the earthquakes. Buildings brought down, supplies hard to find, and not many people to see in my city of Haventon. Even the government is useless. But worst of all, the dust clouds near ground. They go as high as a 4 or 5 story building. Whoever stays down there won't be able to breathe for long. Their lungs will fill up with dust, making it hard to breathe. You can barely see even. Only way to live is to stay on high ground or underground, like in sewers or subway stations. The dust hasn't left... and I don't think it will. But there is one good thing of all. I am alive.
This story was based off of a game I really enjoyed. It may not be good, but it is my first book. I recommend you guys check the game out: I AM ALIVE. This game was based off a post-apocalyptic world where the protagonist goes to his hometown of Haventon to find his wife and daughter, Julie and Mary. I hope this is at least a bit enjoyable. By the way, my story will not follow the game, I am making it up as I go along.
(Chapters are short at first, but I started doing 1000 words later on)

There was more to turn Racoon City tragedy and this is just the beginning of Claire's journey to the truth. Will she survive another nightmare or will she join the team of the undead? But will we like what we see? And will we be able to stop the horrors there before it consumes us all? Dystopia Rising
The world ended long ago, riddled with plague and zombies and destruction. But humanity survived, and humanity evolved. The Infection that helped bring the world to its knees also changed humans in ways to help them keep living in this now broken world ready to be rebuilt. Seven lineages with three strains each, and each have their own unique set of traits that help us survive. But that's not what this story is about-at least, not really. This story isn't about how a hero will rise and bring the world back to what it was Pre-Fall. This story is about me, an ordinary Remanat living life through the world day to day as a mercenary. A beginner mercenary as everyone likes to remind me. The others in my group have been calling me 'Rookie' since I joined them three months ago. I'm beginning to wonder if they actually know my name. We have been hired to help the New Reach Caravan travel across the wastelands to Philly Del Phia, and this is the perfect opportunity to show them that I'm not just a dumb Rookie. I'm actually quite good at my job. I just happen to get distracted by one certain Eight-Ball, but it's not my fault he's good-looking, and charming, and funny... Anyway, all I have to do is help my group get the caravan to Del Phia. Should be an easy enough job. Just avoid the zoms and keep clear of the Raiders, and we should be fine... Right? I admit it, I was stupid to think that me of all people would be an ordinary woman. Nope. I've lived through tremendous abuse from being in foster care after my parents were both murdered within 3 months of each other and then the sudden death of my Older brother Jake. Now here I am, falling madly, deeply, head over heels in love for the president of the Devils Rebels MC. What in the actual fuck is wrong with me? Broken. I'd say that's a good way to describe me. Even as the world fell to pieces, I still desperately tried to collect mine, hoping that maybe I could put myself back together. But when the world turned evil and dark, and insanity fell upon the innocent, I had no choice but to build a new Beth. A new girl. That way, no matter how many people I was forced to kill, I wouldn't shatter. Excerpt: The mistakes of your past will affect your future. I've figured that out over the years of mistakes I've seen bleed from my parents. I don't really know how to describe the consequences of those mistakes, because you can see them all over my body. You can see the bruises from the beatings and the pain flashing in my eyes. The moment you realize I won't smile at you because you're a man who could potentially overpower me and harm me... it's heartbreaking for some people. I've gotten used to the belt lashes and the screaming and the crying and the rejection. So much so that when it was taken away, that scared little girl inside of me tore through my walls, and I broke. Yet, after all the crap I saw and the suffering I endured without the help of my parents, I realized I could handle it. I could shove away the terrified me and fight. I Survived
It was like any other day, i was with my daughter, amelia. She was about to fall sleep. She was in so much peace. No worry in the world. Her green eyes were shining, from the light of the moon. They slowly closed, and she drifted off into her soft snoring. For a 3 year old, she sure knows how to mess with your heart. I felt so bad. Her father left. Well, my husband found somebody better i guess. We had her when i was 20, and he left when she was only 4 months old. What a life. During my deep thinkink, the tv stated making that fog horn type noise, waking me up from my trance. The news was on, with the alert reading across the screen. "TAKE COVER, STAY IN HOMES. LOCK DOORS, STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS" i lay amelia in her bed, out of my lap. I lock the windows and the doors. When i came back, i missed whatever the alert was about...i should have waited. They said that "Changing is part of LIFE.", at least that's what the CSD (Change and Save Department) used to say. They thought they created a "cure". A cure to save many people's lives from sickness, cancer, and all. Unfortunately... They were wrong. It was fine at first... However, their first test subject? It was for no good. Instead of a cure, they made a "virus". The virus is incurable for now. Many people protested against the CSD and the government. It changed.. but it was never saved... They said that once they bit you, in an hour the virus will spread throughout your body and kill you, then you'll be alive but not like you used to be. There are many survivors, but there are also many who have been turned into monsters. They call these monsters, "zombies". The CSD promised that they'll find a cure, but much-lost hope, lost hope for being alive, lost hope for survival. A 17 yrs. the old girl was in between that. Everything might sound and look horrible but she never lost hope for survival. "I'm running out of food.." she kept on talking to herself since there was no one but her. She saw a grocery store nearby so she checked it out if there were food, and fortunately, there was. She stuffed the food in her bag until she heard something. "Is someone there?" She asked, she hoped it wasn't what she thought about but there it was. The zombie's legs were twisted so it will have a hard time catching her. However, she never encountered that close. She stuffed the last food in her bag and ran. She ran to the girl's restroom. When she opened the door there were zombies! It almost caught her but fortunately, nothing happened to her. She ran back but there were more! "Please don't say this is how I'm going to die!" She said to herself. Is she going to die? Who will she meet? Will they survive this cruel world??
