amy returns to work upon jake's entrance into the witness protection program, and the gang struggles to keep things normal (with a heckin ton of difficulty and angst, of course).
this might be a mess??? it's slightly inspired by something i wrote and then promptly deleted but it now takes place while jake and my main man ray holt are in florida (spoilers, obviously) at the beginning of season 4.

So in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode titled "Show Me Going" (5x20), Rosa goes to help other officers take down some shooters in Brooklyn Heights. The episode never shows the situation, only the squad's concern for Rosa back at the precinct. I've always wondered what happened exactly because Rosa avoids talking about it at the end of the episode. So I decided to write it myself! Obviously, the characters do not belong to me.
