Ashton has always loved his brothers. When he was younger he use to self harm which he has always been public about. When Luke, Calm, and Michael are in the back of the tour bus talking bad about Ashton and he hears them he starts writing in his journal starting off as Dear Brothers in letter format. About  how he feels everyday. He starts cutting but no one notices. These are the Journal Entry's he wrote.
