Set in the distant future, 16 year old Jaelynn Dombroski, has become a part of the resistance. Polishing and learning skills of combat and how to handle deadly weapons. What's her ultimate goal? To bring the Circle down by revealing the perfect lie.
At such a young age she has learned to not completely trust, to not be weak, to fight and to not love. Most importantly she must not share her secret If she breaks these rules she will die.
Will the sacrifices she's made and others have made be in vain? Or will she finally show the ugly truth of the perfect lie?

When Evita starts asking questions Evelyn Sheer, the head of the city's Department of Energy, takes her captive and places her in a secret, underground research facility. Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. 3010, the world isn't the same as you remember it. It's been taking over by the radiation poisoning from many plants, and factories. The sky isn't the beautiful blue, in fact it's a gloomy grey all the time. In some places, it's even tinted green. The world is so contaminated, that everyone is forced to wear gas masks, and you're lucky if you haven't been affected by it. What the chemicals do to many people and animals who didn't take the time to wear their gas masks is a horror. It's like a nightmare that has come true. 16 year olds, Jaylynn and Luke are both struggling to survive in this dangerous world. When she starts having dreams about a tropical island where people live as they did in the 21st century, she meets the man of her dreams: literally. Her new boiling emotions bring her to wonder...what if it's a real place? When she starts her search for the island and bumps into Elis-the man in her dreams-she suddenly knows it wasn't all just a making of her imagination. Finding that island could mean finding the answers to her burning questions, and maybe even answers to questions she didn't know she had. However, not everything is what she thought it would be when she finally finds the island, and her dreams become a harsh reality. Elis turns out to be someone else, and when another man swoops in every time Maxine is in danger, she becomes confused about what love really is.
