'~The little kids grasped each others' arms and locked eyes. The six year old girl opened her mouth to let out a giggle, before putting on a serious face and spoke the words: "Do you, Xavier, promise that we will stay best friends forever?"
The young boy, while trying hard not to laugh, repeated the words that they had been practising a hundred times: "I do, and do you, Cameron, promise to stay my best friend - through thick and thin, for better or for worse?"
The little girl, Cameron, anticipated this and - as soon Xavier (the little boy) finished speaking - she blurted out the words: "I do!" They both jumped back in shock at her sudden outburst and then laughed for what felt like hours, but in reality was two minutes, before Xavier picked up Cameron and twirled her round like a rag doll, chuckling along to her squealing.
"I promise to always stay by your side and protect you from everything bad," Xavier bellowed out, earning a pearly white grin from Cameron.~
