The vampire had been chained up for centuries, left in the ruins of his family's castle starving and in pain until the wolf God Tivachi came to him
  
  Now, the vampire was wounded and weak, afraid of the world and the people inside it. The Forest of Gods was the only safe place for him, until the Dark Knight decided to take him back to the castle with him.
