The disappearance of a friend and millions of Francs worth of wine interrupts David's buying trip in France when he pauses to assist and comfort his friend's wife, Catherine. Their lives are threatened, the intensifying circumstances draw them closer together, and they uncover their buried traumas, insecurities and longings.

This is a tale of mounting tensions, realisations and passions woven through a gripping crime thriller set on the Burgundy canals and in the French wine business of the 1980s.

Although this is a work of fiction, most of the locations, adventures and characters are real or based on reality. David's behaviour and interactions are influenced by his autism, alexithymia and asexuality, which were much less understood when this story is set, and I write these from my own experience.
The reminiscences, stories and timeline follow events from my own life, though sometimes they're slightly juggled to fit the crafting of this novel.

Fortunately, the crimes and the criminals are fictional, and any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental.

I grew up safe, protected, adored, certain of the life that awaited me. A grand estate, a devoted father... a wedding to the perfect man. But the altar crumbled beneath me, my world ripped apart in a heartbeat. The silk turned to ruin, vows to ash, and in one heartbeat, everything I knew was gone. I find myself trapped in a fortress in the mountains, under the gaze of a man whose heart did not hesitate to shatter mine years ago.... Whose hands promise protection... and claim. He doesn't ask for my trust, he takes it, drags me into a world of lies, bold betrayals, and secrets I wasn't prepared to see. And the truth? I can't tell if he's my salvation... or the most delicious kind of trap I've ever known. I am Genevieve. My life was safe, my choices clear. But now, nothing is as it seems. And the man in the shadows... he is the storm I can't outrun. ⚠️ Content Disclaimer ⚠️ This work contains mature themes and potentially triggering content, including but not limited to: violence, death, emotional abuse, manipulation, trauma, sexual tension, and morally complex relationships. It's an excerpt from Victor Hugo's "Les Misérables". He says: "The power of a glance has been so much abused in love stories, that it has come to be disbelieved in. Few people dare now to say that two beings have fallen in love because they have looked at each other. Yet it is in this way that love begins, and in this way only." I slowly lifted my head towards Collin and I saw him locking his eyes on mine. It was that same glance I just read. It was so evident in him and I could feel it upon me. I became instantly vulnerable and when he pressed his lips to mine, time froze and an explosive ecstasy overwhelmed our whole beings. *** Jamie grew up in Green Hill, where she devoted herself entirely to painting, turning it into her career. Known for her creativity and the abstraction of her art, she gained a certain success that had made her traveling from city to city. At the peak of her career, temporarily staying in a place called Chaston for a few weeks, she met Collin - a charming young man whose appeal was difficult to overlook. Their first meeting felt like a spontaneous intense chemistry, none of them could fight back. Chaston was the beginning of a new adventure but will this shared and intimate energy last longer or forever, knowing she wouldn't stay there for long? "See you again" is a rich literary translated work filled with life turmoils and psychological transformations that will bring you shivers and emotions. Well, at least I hope so. • Original French title: Elle •

Book #2 in the "Bloodlines & Ashes" series (Can be read as a stand-alone) HER A mystery. So very complicated. An enigma. A puzzle with so many missing pieces. Add one of the above ingredients into my plate and call me intrigued. Enter him. He is all of them and more...much more. He claims to be a monster. He doesn't believe in redemption. He is too vague and too dark for me to read. But it's my job now. To help him, figure him out, to find all of his missing pieces, arrange them together and finally obtain the final picture. It's my job, to find his deepest darkest secret. It's my job, to unravel the beast he claims to be and finally see the man behind. HIM Lost. I've been lost for way too many years. I thought it was over. I wanted it to be over. I had nothing to live for anymore. I've killed, I've destroyed and obliterated. It was enough. My role in the story should've ended there. I was too big of a monster to be tamed. Too dangerous to be kept alive. Enter her. Too loud. Too obnoxious. Too naive. Innocent, so very innocent. So intent on aiding me, redeeming me. She is unaware, she is opening a door that was shut down with a broken lock. I am scared. Terrified even. She is too white against my inner darkness. Too pure to be tangled with the devil living within me. We don't mix. We should never mix. Instead of pulling me out of that room, she might just get herself stuck inside as well. She wants to unravel the beast and meet the man behind, but I am scared that if she succeeded, she'll find nothing behind.
