The disappearance of a friend and millions of Francs worth of wine interrupts David's buying trip in France when he pauses to assist and comfort his friend's wife, Catherine. Their lives are threatened, the intensifying circumstances draw them closer together, and they uncover their buried traumas, insecurities and longings.

This is a tale of mounting tensions, realisations and passions woven through a gripping crime thriller set on the Burgundy canals and in the French wine business of the 1980s.

Although this is a work of fiction, most of the locations, adventures and characters are real or based on reality. The reminiscences, stories and timeline follow events from my own experiences, though sometimes they're slightly juggled to fit the crafting of this novel. Fortunately, the crimes and the criminals are fictional, and any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental.

Graduate from college - Check New cute chic haircut - Check One way ticket to Paris - Check Kate Perryman is ready for the best summer of her life! While she hasn't completely figured out what she's going to do now that she's a college graduate (perhaps majoring in English wasn't the best idea) she's not going to let that stop her from pursuing Henri - the cute foreign exchange student she met her last semester at the University of Kansas. What can go wrong right? Kate soon learns Henri has put Kate firmly in the past leaving her to traverse Paris on her own with little money and an even worse sense of direction. But things begin to look up when she stumbles upon her childhood friend Jeremy LeClair, and he invites her to spend the summer at his family's chateau. Of course, Kate can't say no! What she doesn't realize is that the chateau is rumored to be haunted by the two Chevalier sisters that mysteriously disappeared in the late 18th century amid scandal, murder, and a well-kept love triangle. While Kate tries to find out exactly what happened to them (and who the third set of bloody footprints belong to) she throws herself into life at Chateau de Langlois - enjoying the large swimming pool, vineyard, and gardens. What she can't understand is why Jeremy doesn't seem to return her affections! From Paris to Nice to Monaco and Cannes Kate truly has the most amazing summer but what would be perfection is the love of the man she knows has always been more than just a "friend."

Jesabel is a liar. When her only friend mysteriously disappears, she does what comes naturally. She keeps her truth from the world. Without warning, she is thrown into a web of lies far more dangerous and lethal than anything she could imagine. With an annoyingly charming boy by her side, can she unravel what she refuses to tell - the truth? WHITE LIES HAS BEEN REVISED, EDITED AND REWORKED! Happy late new year, friends! I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that White Lies, a story that has been up and running on Wattpad since 2011, has been re-written and revised for the coming decade. What does this mean? This entails the same characters you know and love, with better flow, better writing, more nuanced character development, more mature content, and entirely different plot lines. Jesabel's character has changed drastically since I last introduced her to the world (nearly NINE years ago! yikes!), and I wanted to make this story a more nuanced and modern take. When I had written White Lies, I had been just 14 years old. And I've done a ton of growing, learning, and unlearning over the years. This means that my characters have grown and developed with me. If you are an old friend and re-reader - welcome, and please enjoy the same old story you love with a brand new take! If you have started along this White Lies journey beginning in December and all throughout January, you might have read a half-edited and half-original version of the story. So please feel free to re-read at your leisure! I won't bite, I promise.

Nicky Peters sets out on an emotional roller coaster when she creates a melody from an old high school journal entry which develops into her debut song for her second album. Her personal and professional life become quickly complicated when she finds herself standing in front of the one person she thought she'd never see again, the same person who unfortunately understands all too well who Nicky's hit song is really about...him. ******** Nicky Peters' rise to fame in country music was fast, being plucked out of obscurity at seventeen after her YouTube videos went viral. After she pens a very personal song from one of her old high school journals called, "Honestly," for her much-anticipated second album, she realizes her feelings will be under a microscope for the whole world to see, including Nate Stanton, her ex-best friend from childhood. He also just happens to be the one person who truly understands the meaning behind her heart-wrenching song. What happens when fate brings her face-to-face with the boy she thought she'd never see again? Nicky quickly realizes airing her emotions out in public via a number-one, hit song can make things complicated fast. As Nate and Nicky reconnect and navigate through their past, truths are revealed, assumptions are at an all-time high, and a publicity nightmare looms which jeopardizes all she's worked so hard for. While Nicky's misfortunes add up, she realizes fame comes with a price. She begins to understand the cold, hard facts, keeping her career intact as country's "it" girl and maintaining a personal life may be more difficult than it sounds, especially when you're living through a public scandal.
