Late Night Rendezvous

It wasn't supposed to be him. I'm a matchmaker after all, I know who suits who. And he just wasn't for me. Then, why couldn't I get his face out of my mind? Why out of all guys, was it Aiden Rodgers that made me weak?

"I don't know Emma. It's Senior year and you've always been single. Use your gift to find someone," Meredith said as we stopped by our lockers. I didn't mind being single and besides, I'd already tried using my gift. No one matched up.
"You know I've looked everywhere, Mer," I said as I turned to look at her. She was ignoring me completely, her attention focused on something in the hall. I turned my head in search of what had my best friend ignoring me. Immediately I noticed him. I mean, how could you not? His tall, muscular frame covered by a white t-shirt and a red flannel. Dark blue jeans hung loose on his hips. His dark brown hair styled messily with a beanie covering the back. The light presence of dark facial hair on his jaw and chin complimented his light brown eyes.
" Um, maybe, just maybe, have you been looking in the wrong place?" Mer interrupted my thoughts.
Aiden Rodgers? THE Aiden Rodgers? It could never happen. Right?
