For 17 year old Astrid Makin life is perfect at the moment. Living a life she never dreamed she could have with crazy, but devoted friends and a loving brother, Astrid couldn't ask for anything more. Her past filled with abuse and fear reappears only in her nightmares. However, nothing stays perfect forever, especially for a teenage girl who thinks nothing could get any worse than how it was before. That's where life comes in and proves her horribly wrong, resulting in everything crashing down once school starts up again. As things start getting harder, Astrid is painfully reminded that life is no joy ride and sometimes sacrifices have to be made.
