"She had a compulsion for scribbling on inconsequential things. Notebooks, bathroom stalls, and stray napkins. It didn't matter. And, among these things, there was only ever one consistency. Every time Astrid got her hands on a pen and clear surface, she would begin with a simple circle. But it would soon evolve to so much more. Swirling flames surrounded by neat, five pointed stars. 
Sometimes there were people, but not often. She never liked to finish them. The comet was the most common. It was destructive. Disastrous. 
It made me wonder if that's how Astrid saw herself. As this."
