Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: humans and monsters. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle, the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.

However, the humans later discovered that not all of the monsters were trapped underground, but many still roamed on the surface. These monsters no longer knew how to peacefully coexist with humans, and instead, they brainlessly and indiscriminately killed humans.

An evil sorcerer arose, taking control of the monsters with dark magic. He desired to gain the legendary Triforce and use its power to take over the world. As a result, war once again broke out between monsters and humans, and the humans were less prepared to face this new threat...

Luckily, a hero appeared, with the mark of the Triforce of Courage on his left hand. Using its power, the hero defeated the evil sorcerer and all of his minions, returning peace to the land.

Many years later...
MT. Ebott
201X.

The hero hears of a legend that says that those who climb the mountain never return. Deciding to investigate this legend, he climbs Mt. Ebott and discovers a world buried deep beneath the surface, a world beyond anything he could ever imagine...

For those who desire to read this story, I recommend that you have adequate knowledge of The Legend of Zelda, especially Twilight Princess. Knowledge of Undertale is also recommended, but hopefully it won't be necessary. Also, for anyone wondering, the Link in this story is Twilight Princess Link (hmm, I wonder which game is my favorite, haha)

Amnesia was a funny thing. It strips you of all memories, both good and bad. But what it didn't take away from Link was his caring heart. He wasn't a man who had time to deal with or worry about things like memories anyway. All he cared about was doing what was right. But just because Link had no memories, or any interest to reclaim them, didn't mean they wouldn't return to haunt him. Ever since Link woke up, strange things have been happening around the land. Horrific creatures, not quite monster and not quite human, begin appearing at night to terrorize the denizens of Hyrule. Link, not one to simply let such evils do as they please, decides to investigate into the matter as he travels across the land to find a way to destroy these creatures. It should've been just another job for him, just a problem the people needed solved, just another errand for the incarnation of Hylia's hero. But as he investigates, he is haunted by his past. Link's mind cannot remember what happened. But his heart did. He still feels what he lost, what he failed to protect, even after one hundred years. That's what draws something toward Link, the very same evil that created the creatures he faces. It follows and watches him from the shadows, taunting him, waiting for him to remember the past he's forgotten, waiting for the pain to resurface, waiting for the time he can no longer carry the weight of it all. As he journeys on his quest to defeat Ganon and save Princess Zelda, Link must learn to contend with another ancient evil that taints the land, all while facing the ghosts of his forgotten past. But how long can a disgraced hero last in the face of his failures? Cover art designed by @DaybreakVision on Twitter. Some themes may be upsetting to some readers. Viewer discretion advised. "Princess!" he yelled after her. "Where are you going?" "Back to the castle," she replied without stopping. "Not by yourself you're not!" "I'm sorry,"-she whipped around-"I didn't realize you were my father?" "Your father, the king, would execute me for letting you travel by yourself." "Oh, so this is about self-preservation?" "Yes. Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness." Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. "And by the looks of it, you're not equipped to handle that." She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. "What, and you are?" She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. "Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?" Calamity is upon Hyrule. The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. It certainly doesn't help that the boy fate has tangled her with makes her seethe. Devotion, heartbreak, inadequacy. Faith, perseverance, and courage. This is a story of finding what lies within. When the three goddesses of the Triforce unintentionally grant the Princess of Hyrule the Triforce of Power, and the evil locked away from the world the Triforce of Wisdom, everything is in chaos as it was before, only it's the princess this time who's causing the trouble. Zelda had been power hungry for years. Years before the mark of the Triforce of Power appeared on the back of her hand, she'd always thrown fits if something didn't go her way. Now, at only seventeen and fully gifted with the Triforce of Power, she made sure things went her way, and her way only. Ganondorf had escaped the Sacred Realm somehow, and returns to the Gerudo Village in peace. Accidentally blessed with the Triforce of Wisdom, he acknowledges the Gerudo's hard work and thrives to make his village a better place for everyone. Link, still possessing the Triforce of Courage, has been assigned to be Zelda's personal bodyguard and do something horribly wrong to please her majesty, which he does not partake in ever doing. Fate brings Link and Ganondorf face to face. Somehow, Link and Ganondorf team up and secretly plot against the princess to stop her vile plans to make Hyrule miserable. After all, it was Courage and Wisdom who saved Hyrule all those times before, right? •• [Post OoT; Before the events of TP] The Legend of Zelda belongs to Nintendo. "Where did you come from?" Ilia asked and that's when everything stopped. Where did I come from? I tried to remember, I thought really hard but all I could say was, "I came from a place where no mortal should ever come from if they dare keep their head." The words tumbled from my mouth before I could stop them. I slapped a hand over my mouth, scared I would say more I didn't understand. Why would I say that? (Y/n) had awoke inside of a strange house, surrounded by strange kids. The only issue with that logic, she has no memory. Nothing to trigger why the young man Link and the group of children would be so kind to a stranger. It dawns on her that she needs to find out who she is again. However a darkness is brewing, and Link has a destiny to follow. The strings of fate tangle between the young duo, and (Y/n) makes a decision to help save Hyrule from the darkness. With nothing more than a brave face and an emerald pendant tying her back home, she sets out with Link. They also fall under the service of an imp itching for revenge. However, there is one person standing in the way of (Y/n) getting home. Her best friend, the Usurper King, Zant. He has made it his life goal to protect (Y/n) from himself and place a veil over her eyes to keep her from seeing his wrongs. Her wrath would for sure be the end of his evil plans. This is a fairytale AU retelling of Cinderella with Zelink! Yes this is Dual POV I switch between Link and Zelda :) Zelda is a girl who had lost her mother at a young age. Her life was flipped upside down by not only her mother's death but with her father remarrying a woman named Morissa. Zelda didn't realize how awful her new stepmother would be. She became a servant to her and her new stepsisters as she was forced to complete every task handed to her without complaint. But something doesn't feel right to Zelda, there is something going on that she can't quite figure out. Link is a prince who has been reminded by his father, the King of Hyrule, to find a wife before his nineteenth birthday. Link is having none of that. He really didn't understand why he had to get married so soon, he wanted time to find someone he loved not someone he had to pretend to love. He sneaks out of the castle every now and then, not completely unattended. Sometimes his appointed knight Sheik catches him in the act and follows him. Will Link find what he's looking for? I don't own Zelda, Link, or any Nintendo characters! I only own OC's that I make up! This is strictly for fun and because I want to write it!
