The Day They Came & The World We Lost

It was a normal day in the small city, as normal as it could get. Sure, I know it sounds cleché, and I'm willing to bet you already guessed what happens next. Hell, that's what happened. From the small moments between two single seconds, the world went down the drain. Chaos rung through the air with a sound as clear as day. Though you may not think the word Hell can describe noise, I'll tell you one thing. In this moment, that's what the world sounded like. Within a single instant, the world had completely collapsed in onto itself.
Children screamed alongside their guardians as cars suddenly swerved to avoid people who has appeared in the roads. Some of the new inhabitants of the planet though were crushed flat. Their insides squeezed out of them, and their bones shattered. It looked as if they had been popped like a water balloon, a water balloon filled with blood and made of skin however. If that wasn't disturbing enough, the mangled bodies of the strange beings began to move. Some cried out, hastily grabbing their damaged organs and attempting to stuff them back into the places they had come out, and some simply stood up and continues on their way, as if nothing had happened. A few unfortunate souls however, let out blood curdling, ear piercing shrieks as others pounced over to them, ripping the flesh from their bones.
It didn't end there though, the creatures that had appeared were here to stay. They ran amok, tackling others to the ground in attempts to capture their fleeing prey. Once caught... Well, I'm sure you know what happens next.
This was the beginning of the year of the vampires. The beginning of a new earth. A select few of the group had taken charge, those who were purebloods, born from a lineage of nothing but monsters. Those monsters needed mates though, and there were many to choose from in this world. This is the the story of a boy who survived the impossible. A boy who may just change this broken world.
