Like many others, Angeline died in the Beginning. The first of the many disasters to come that wiped out half of the population in a single moment. Angeline shares the story of her group of unlikely survivors, watching them as they endure the ongoing apocalypse.

This story originally began as my entry for NaNoWriMo2013, but I was unable to complete it in time. Because I still had a story to tell and a couple interested readers, I've decided to pick up the story again and continue writing it. So, thank you for taking the time to read Ashes Of Angeline and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

The world didn't end all at once-it unraveled slowly. Quietly. While no one was looking. Neve, a introverted 17 year old, was always good at noticing things. The way her neighbors' pets started vanishing. The way the news anchors stumbled over their words. The way her school suddenly cared about checking students for "fevers" but never offered explanations. Still grieving her mother and lost in the silence of her own home, Neve watches as the world slips further from normal-until the night the power goes out. Until the night she sees a man, gaunt and bloodied, standing in her backyard. Watching her. After that, everything falls apart. As cities burn and the dead walk the streets, Neve is forced from the quiet life she knew into a fractured world ruled by survival, instinct, and impossible questions. Who can be trusted? What do the revenants-the "turned"-still remember? And how much of yourself can you lose before you're no longer human? Alongside Jace, a guarded 19 year old, a boy with his own shadows, Neve walks a path littered with broken people, fading memories, and echoes of a past that refuses to stay buried. Life couldn't get any more bleak. They are oil and water traversing a living hellscape, but the rotters aren't the only danger. |WATTYS 2022 WINNER - HORROR| Shawn, a convicted criminal, never thought she'd see the sun again, let alone call another star system her home. When she's offered an out from her prison sentence, she embarks on a dangerous interstellar expedition along with 18 of Earth's most intelligent criminals. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. The Darkest Souls
Set in Seattle, Washington, Lacey Evans just turned fifteen. Her life alone is a wreck of peace. Nothing seems to happen besides an occasional fight to break out between humans who have been dominated by light or darkness to where it has become a part of them and their abilities. Even those have gotten tiring and normal. Lacey recently recovered from a severe stab to her chest which sent her six years of hospitalization including mental recovery. She now has time to herself, too much time. Her family was rich, so being a writer, her low income doesn't matter to her survival and pleasure in the world. Constantly her mind travels back to the past. Having memories of a group that her parents led during the years they were still living.
