Riku Murakami was a bit strange. He was a middle schooler with a high average. But he never spoke to anyone, and always disappeared during class.

One day, he finds a human Soul Reaper battling a Hollow.

Given the instruction, he tests Ichigo's abilities, leaving him confused and furious when he gives no reason for his attack.

But that encounter leads to a friendship, as well as an untold past.
