Welcome! I write in all different genres and for all different ages. Some, like this book, are a bit more dramatic. Others are completely silly. I've been told I should stick with one age range or one genre so I can brand myself and market to niche markets. But there are so many stories I want to tell! And I don't think of myself as a brand. I think of myself as a storyteller. That's why I'm excited to join Wattpad. The creativity I've discovered just in the past few days is amazing! Always, Jessie has already been published. I can only share part of this book due to publisher guidelines, but I'll be posting once or twice a week until then. Description: Jessie is an ambitious but lonely girl struggling with an eating disorder and exercise addiction. After a life-threatening incident sends her to the hospital, Jessie agrees to enter a residential treatment facility, where she meets a diverse group of young women also on the journey to recovery. Reviewers have called this inspirational novel "amazingly honest and poignant" and "an eye-opener for how food disorders can overtake young people." Personal Note: Many books on eating disorders focus on the illness and a heroine who makes a magical recovery in the last few pages. When I struggled with bulimia and exercise addiction, I hated those types of books. I wanted to write a novel that more accurately reflected the journey of recovery people go through. I didn't just magically get better one day. I went into treatment and worked hard on recovery. Jessie is not me, but she does reflect my experiences and the experiences of the friends I met as I got better. If you're a reader struggling with food or weight issues, I've compiled a list of resources where you can find help.
