My heart deflates; splatters. It feels like its swollen in love and sadness, mixing in my chest and tightening like a knot. My eyes meet his: a regretful gaze, tangling the red string connecting us - tighter, closer, yet more painful.
"Do you want me to lie?"
His gleam is gone. His eyes unlightened. He looks down, suddenly conscious; voice overpowered by his emotion.
