Kristina Jackson is a kind-hearted high school sophomore at Everest High, who enjoys reading and listening to music. Her life doesn't seem to be going anywhere until she meets Tristan, a popular, athletic junior who was dedicated to getting a career in sports. Kristina takes an instant liking to Tristan, and her parents believe he could put her life on a better path to success. When Tristan's childhood friend, Elizabeth Waters, admits her feelings for him, Kristina can't help but to feel betrayed and hurt, yet still protective of him. What she didn't realize was that it took someone else to admit their feelings, in order for her to notice her own. The pressure of Tristan and Elizabeth's rumored relationship begins to tear Kristina apart to the point where nothing else mattered.
