2050: The year of the apocalypse.

One girl swears she is losing her mind, ironic given the power she holds. Another is convinced her brother is dead, though somehow he's forced himself to continue hoping she is alive. One young teen made a mistake, and now he is being tortured by his own guilt, forced to watch three of his former allies suffer at the hands of his new group of companions.

While the past, present, and future seem to haunt different members of the group, these may be the very least of their worries. Decisions will be made, for better or worse, the outcomes of which could leave the group lost in a sea of chaos. Old acquaintances pose deadly threats, and no one can anticipate the dangers lying in wait around every corner.

It is a time of despair, yet a time of courage. In an era where only the strong survive, who will continue to move forward, and who will give up on the fight entirely?

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

(DISCONTINUED. REWRITE IN PROGRESS) The year is 2050. The world has gone to hell. Everywhere you look, it's just ruins and devastation. It's so fucking stupid, how it all started. We were born like this. We can't help it. We can't help the way we were made. And yet they still hate us. They still hunt us down, beat us around, torture us. But we're done. We aren't taking it anymore. So, we're gonna take down the one who started this all. I'm gonna take down the one that started this all. I swear on Satan himself, I won't stop until you're dead, Leon. You've got a whole other hell coming for messing with me. Annabelle Blakrein, a skilled and dangerous 14 year old, is doing what she can to survive in the apocalypse, and kill the one who started it all. Kind of complicated when you have protective siblings and reckless children getting in your way and into danger. Especially her sweet little twins, who are destined for tragedy. She doesn't want her family to die, and her children to live lives of sorrow. So, she's gonna do what she can to keep them away from the world, from him.
