'You were red, and you liked me 'cause I was blue. You touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky. And you decided purple just wasn't for you.' Paris Jenkins has been told to change many times, by others. She changed, she changed just to please them. But, the changes are not what she wanted. The changes are not what they wanted, either. Paris decided. She doesn't want to change anymore. But changing is unavoidable. Paris Jenkins has become dependent, purely because her boyfriend likes her that way. He likes feeling needed, he likes being 'reliable'. But, it has changed Paris more than anyone else. Paris starts relying on everyone. Paris starts getting complaints from the everyone. She needs to change. Paris Jenkins doesn't need a man to help her. Paris Jenkins doesn't need a man to protect Her. Paris Jenkins is independent, and Paris doesn't need to rely on someone else. She needs to change. Paris, France can still shine without it's dear Eiffel Tower, and Paris Jenkins can still shine without someone else. Paris is as pretty as a butterfly, but she doesn't want to be one anymore. Why? Because she doesn't want to rely on others. She will not take from the flowers that are everyone around her. She is a firefly, independent, self-reliant, strong, she will live her life fully, not wasting it with others, despite the short amount of time to live. She is making changes in her life, but this time, the changes are her own decisions, not someone else's. highest ranking so far: #706 in ChickLit ● cover by @temmie- ●
