"Are you kidding me?" My mum says to the principal.
"I'll try find something," He said nervously scrolling to the list of dorms.
"Thank you," My mum gave a fake smile.
After minutes of awkward silence Mr. Martin finally spoke.
"I have one space left, but there's already another student," He said.
"It doesn't matter," My mum nodded. He handed me the key.
"Well then, it's a pleasure to have you at MCU," Mr. Martin looked at me, "Your room is room 206."
"Great, I should go unpack," I smiled at Mr. Martin.
"Thanks again," My mum smiled as we walked out.
"So mum, see you later," I smiled hugging her.
"Bye sweetheart," My mum said. I saw her walk to her car and drive off. I began to look for my room.
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
