Rebecca's favorite holiday is Halloween and she looks forward to it even though she just turned 16. One night when she is hanging out with her group of four friends; Becky, Laura, Alice, and Hannah, they dare her to go into Midnight Woods. She convinces them to come with her. They agree, but are all scared because Midnight Woods is suppose to be haunted with lost and angered Indian souls, who won't stop until they repay the people who stole their land from them, a long long time ago. After going into the woods, all the girls say that the legends are fake, and that wasn't so bad, and they say goodnight and head home. At school the next day, Becky tells the group that she saw some people outside her window and they looked like they were looking for someone. Everyone else gasp, and then everyone says that they saw the same thing. Rebecca says she didn't and they were most likely seeing things. With that everything goes back to normal, until Hannah doesn't show up to school, and won't answer her phone. The next day it's Laura, then Alice. Finally its only Becky and Rebecca left and they are both scared. Becky says to Rebecca in a shaky voice "I wish we never went into Midnight Woods." then the next day Becky is gone. Rebecca decides before the souls come for her, she will try to figure out why they are doing this, so she heads to the library for answers.

Will Rebecca find out the answer to souls haunting? Or will she disappear like her friends? Or do her friends disappearing mean something more? Could all of this lead back to something like family? It's up to Rebecca to find out.
