The Respected Ones

Sage, a 16 year old girl, is living in a town that can only consume blood by order of the government. She has decided to do something about it, and teams up with her neighbor and friend, Jason. Together they get pulled into a dangerous friendship with all the seemingly wrong people.

A group of people came in and looked at me and Jason like we were their worst enemy.
"Who is the boy with her?" One of them asked.
"He is the human one she is friends with." Another one answered.
They had weird voices, like they were whispering except their mouths did not move. Their voices sounded snake like and their movements were eerily graceful and smooth.
"Kill. We must kill." The first one said again.
They were moving towards Jason.
