Every hundred years a merman is chosen to join humans to find his other half. He is given one year to find and court the woman. She must except every gift of the merman without refusal. Out of the fifteen gifts, she must not give away any gift because the merman will start to petrify. Once the first gift is given by the merman, the merman can't change the choice of woman. He has one shot at finding his love. If he does not fulfill all the requirements and details, then he will not be able to return to the kingdom under the sea alive. He will be turned into a statue and his family shamed. However, the merman gets to choose one person to advise him. And guess who the lucky merman is?? The most arrogant and lazy merman alive. Aiden is known around the kingdom as the prince because of his social status. Many mermaids stalk after him just to be his ariel. So what's going to happen when mister lazy doesn't know the rules and gets stuck with someone unexpected? How is he going to act even with the help of his advisor? When her sister's displeasure with her grows worse, Muriel seeks to avoid it. In a desperate attempt to do so she finds herself cave of the sea witch Minerva. Philip's kindness remains prominent in her mind when Minerva offers her a choice to be a human. Hesitantly she agrees, unaware of how different the human world from hers.
