The New Superhero
Ash gently floated through the breeze of the wind, and all of the ash was coming from the place that had fallen before my very eyes. I leaned my body up, so that I could get a better view of this place in front of me. I took in a deep breath as I smiled, the loud sounds and the beating of my heart, along with the fear and anxiety that I had felt before, all went away with the silence. Times like these were hard to come by after all of the things that I have been through. Though no matter how many times I wanted to feel victorious, no matter how many times I wanted to tell myself that it was all over, I couldn't. This happened quite frequently and fast, one second I get powers from a magic rock, and the next second, well, I wish I had never touched that rock. Sometimes I think I'm going to go insane, I wish I could go back in time and be a normal kid once more. It was better then, I was less stressed, and I didn't have villains to deal with, but I know eventually I will be at peace, and I won't have a care in the world. I just don't know if that peace will ever come, it may, or it may not, I guess I'll have to find out. #8 in notperfect as of 3/12/23Completa
Weigh Out Way-In
There is an unexpected turn in the story that drastically changes the course of events and, in the long run, even the lives of those involved. Magpie, the first to be involved, suddenly finds himself in the world so unlike his own. Will he find his place there or will he be at least able to go back home? He seems to find his way back from this new world of giga-dimensions but something unwanted happens, and things go worse. The cultural differences, together with a challenging personality traits of another involved in the events, suck Magpie and his friends into a downward spiral. The story challenges you to see the world differently from the perspective you are perhaps too used to and narrowed by. Life can be an adventure if you don't narrow it with a bigotry that forces you to be rooted in your trenches and behind your dividing walls. This doesn't mean you have to accept others' views without standing your ground. However, to be able to share our lives in this one and only world we need to make compromises, on both sides. Are you the first brave one to set this positive trend in motion? So read on and let the foundation of the story be laid. From the end of episode 1 on, the story really picks up, finally reaching its climax at the end of episode 3 with quite a surprising finish. Your participation in solving this shared challenge of coexistence and cooperation is highly appreciated. Remember those who cooperate make more progress than those who don't! The ideal audience for my first book is actually between 12 and 16, but anybody older and interested in adventures, cultures and in getting more understanding into our multifaceted world is sure to enjoy the story. (The whole story has now been published, the only thing I'll still add is the final epilogue but the story is already available in its entirety.)Completa

I'd Live For You, If Only I Could (Completed)
*Mitch POV* I knew something was wrong when I couldn't breathe. It was in the middle of our social studies lesson for the day, and I tried to take a breath. All that happened was worse suffocation. Being twelve, I didn't handle it well. I opened my mouth to try to speak, but all that came out was an odd sounding croak. My teacher hushed me. But someone sitting next to me looked at me and noticed how pale I looked, or noticed that tears were welling in my eyes and I was drooping. I wrapped my hands around my throat seconds before I blacked out. That was only the first instance. In the time that I was unconscious, my lungs filled with fluid and I almost died. I was out for nearly two days, and my parents really thought that I would die. I vaguely remember hearing my mom crying while I couldn't open my eyes, and my dad telling her that maybe it was just my time and they had to let me go. But then I woke up, and the fluid had been drained from my lungs. I spent a while more in the hospital, and in that time, my parents found out that I had cancer. It had been determined that I probably wouldn't live much longer, maybe three months at the most. The conversation was happening outside my room, where I was supposed to be asleep, but I still heard the whole thing. What I remember most is my mom's sobs.Completa
