Quentin, Penny, Alice and Josephus enter the Wonderland Hall of Fillory to find and battle the Beast. They find a strange world of women on harnesses performing high above them. They must play the Beast at his high stakes game. The final game is modeled on the Josephus Problem, which is a mathematical problem dating back to the 1st century.
