Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. That's the one rule that fiteen year old Alexsandra Whitlecky from District 2 has learned to live up to ever since she could read. But the problem is, she has no enemies. Not yet, that is. It's the 93rd annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death between one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts that surround the Capitol in Panem, and everyone in District 2 is buzzed to know who the one boy and one girl from their district that will compete in the games. Suddenly, her brother Tobais gets chosen to fight in the games, leaving Alexsandra and their family in utter shock. It's a matter of time before something goes horribly wrong. Realizing what she has to do, Alexsandra must learn to trust others and let others learn to trust her. How far will she go to trust her enemies? Is betraying her friends the only answer in the games? What will it take for her to survive?
