It all began on that fateful night. Mephiles had been planning his usual evil things, ways to kill Sonic. That's when Shadow interfered. Shadow had stopped him, grabbing Mephiles by his neck and slamming him against the wall. As Shadow walked away, he oddly growled, but it wasn't a normal growl. It was more of one that said "Stay away, or I'll do something bad, and not painwise." Shadow had skated off afterwards, leaving Mephiles stunned in his spot. As Mephiles stood back up, he shook his head, and that's when it happened. He doesn't remember much about that day, for he blacked out soon after Shadow left. He had woke up, on the ground, oddly enough with a mouth. His neck bled, as he had fangs, which were slightly longer than normal fangs, but barely any difference was seen. As he stood up, putting his hand to his neck and wincing, he realized he had a mouth. He gasped, and looked around, confused on the fact he even had a mouth to begin with. As he skated around, he looked for someone who could help him find out who gave him a mouth. The only one who would be anywhere near close to helping him was Shadow. Seeing as it was the beginning of the school season, and all Mobius, no matter the age, had to go to school, he reluctantly went to the school, scowling as he walked in. This is the year his life changed forever.

Amy vows to keep Shadow's condition a secret not only for the safety of Sonic and the gang but for the universe...but if G.U.N finds out the ultimate life form and their top agent as dangerous... it could result in him being held captive, being detained against his will and experimented on as long as possible. Despite the life threatening situation, Shadow and Amy's connection grows closer and closer which ultimately leads to them having an affair which eventually leads them to being together, much to the disdain of not only Sonic, but to the entire group, unfortunately, it later becomes a weakness which will give Mephiles a possible one up against the team Will Amy and the rest of the crew find a cure for Shadow's condition or will he forever be Mephiles' murderous puppet?
