Elizabeth Baker is the youngest child of three (four, if you count Alice, who died in 1894.) Elizabeth is plagued with a brand new neurological ailment: Autism. Ruth, her mother has had enough of handling the burden of raising Elizabeth, even though she loves her deeply. Elizabeth embarks on a journey that takes her to the darkest pit of humanity. A dark place that even her loving, doting mother regrets sending her to. There is also another conflict: Ruth's own problems that seem to get in the way of everything.
