We've all heard the saying “life sucks, then you die”, but who knew it's supposed to be taken quite so literally?

It’s senior year. Emma Ferdig should be looking forward to escaping her mundane small town, and going on to college—finally. Her biggest worries should be the fact that she’s feeling something more for her life-long best friend Finn, and how she’s going to make things happen between them. But all her plans for a less-sucky future go out the window with the discovery of a seriously creepy woman in her backyard.

As it turns out, zombies are real.

In the first book of the Boring Life Series, Emma’s life is turned upside down as she’s forced to leave everything behind, running off with Finn and a group of extremely odd misfits that include Finn’s jackhole brother Cash, and his unorthodox girlfriend Marley. In an instantaneous journey across the Midwest, they’ll learn horrifying secrets, trust the wrong people, and make deadly mistakes. One day the government unleashed an accidental creature that infected others to which people call, zombies. The government unleashed three man-made islands (one for each money class thingy). They also created Hunters who go to the large islands and kill zombies and find survivors. At age 10 you can continue normal school or you can try out to become a hunter, if you make it you go to a school you are given a letter ranking before you practice for seven years. The two main characters, Lorelei and Finnick are hunters. The story is about their adventures and problems with politics. (this is my first story so I might make a few mistakes and if I do I'm extremely sorry)
