As she grew up her mother dated someone who abused both of them and her "stepfather" beat her so badly to the point she lost her eyesight. Now growing up she's always been insecure of her sight. The man got a few years in jail and well even if she wanted to see him she couldn't, physically she couldn't. She's not been able to see anything for a long time, many kids have picked on her and now in this new town how will these new kids see her? She reacts sadly when called beautiful, misty because she can never return the compliment back, how will she feel like when she finally has a partner however she may never be able to see him and feels guilty for not giving him the same love he gives her back to him.
